 As Windows 9 makes its way towards reveal, Microsoft is still working the kinks out of Windows 8.1. The latest fix? A potentially improved merge of Metro apps with the regular Desktop.
Russian leaker WZor published some new screens possibly showing the forthcoming Windows 8.1 Update 1. The grabs reveal Metro apps pinned to the taskbar, plus a new option to "Show Store apps on the taskbar."

 The leaks of Windows 8.1 Update 1 continues. Everyday, we are coming to know about new feature/tweaks that Microsoft is working on Windows 8.1. Today’s leak reveals couple of significant changes.

The original plan for the Modern UI was for it to become the new Windows, however it seems Microsoft are backtracking on that plan as the latest builds of Windows 8.1 Update 1 include boot to desktop being on by default, which means users will see the desktop before the Modern UI without having to change any settings.
